In this latest short video, project lead, Herb Nahapiet, gives us another update on construction and fundraising progress for the Fitzherbert Community Hub due to open this September.
Construction update
With a number of construction challenges now addressed, things are really starting to take shape. Progress includes the installation of fully sliding glazed doors for the extension, internal partitioning, underfloor heating and the raising of the floors to meet the level of the courtyard, thereby creating continuity between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Construction is also moving forward for the commercial and training kitchen where the Real Junk Food Project will eventually provide up to 25k meals a year, 5 days a week on a pay as you feel basis.
Fundraising news
In fundraising news, The Albert Gubay Foundation closed the funding gap with an extra donation of £176k raising their total donation to £276k. This takes our funding to a total of £1.25m.
We are so grateful to all our major donors including Sport England, The Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, The Parish of East Brighton and Kemp Town Community Philanthropists.
