Marek attended St. John the Baptist School between 1968 and 1974. Having left with good memories of the vibrancy of the school, and the many wonderful teachers, assistants and classmates, Marek has remained closely connected to St John the Baptist Church throughout his life.

Today Marek volunteers at the Food Hub in the Parish Hall on a Sunday with his family and sees the Fitzherbert Community Hub as an opportunity to support people through tough times, as the local community did for his parents in the 1950s.
